As I look back on the day and a half that Shanna and I had together, I will remember them as the best day of my life. We made it to Louisville and took care of my business, which was quite interesting with both of us wearing our long leg casts, and then headed to the music festival. Shanna and I attracted quite a bit of attention as we crutched our way through the many booths and listened to the many great blues acts that played that night. It seemed that all the guys wanted to sign Shanna's cast and many gals mine.
Everywhere we went, pepple offered us the beverage of our choice and the chance to sit down and relax. There was just something about the 2 of us together, both in llc's that seemed to make everyone super friendly, if somewhat sympathetic, and want us to join them. There were even a few girls that seemed intensely interested in what it was like to wear a cast. One even had to feel (not ask mind you) how high up my cast went and then, realizing how high up it went exclaimed, "Oh my God, don't you ever pinch anything". Most, however, just wanted to share a beverage and help us out if they could. Several even commented on what a cute couple we made. Little did they know that we had met less that 6 hours ago.

Having never seen her face, I couldn't be sure but it all added up. I'd watched her videos dozens of times each and thought how great it would be to actually meet her. I marveled at her many different "injuries" and how well she portrayed them. Even the many braces she had and how she would combine them, sometimes with other braces and sometimes with a cast.
As much as I liked her "orthopedic paraphanalia" it was also her sense of style combined with her cute and sexy body that made for an unbeatable combination. Though I had never really had a foot or shoe fetish, I especially loved her choice of footwear. From simple high heeled sandals to knee high scrunchy boots, all fit to her adorably small foot, that always seemed to work so well with whatever "injury" she was portraying. I found it interesting that wearing heels could take her from the "girl next door" look to "stunningly sexy".
To all readers - The following is a fictional story (except for the very first paragraph which was true). Hope you all enjoy my daydream.
I was totally exhausted as I laid back on the bench of a picnic table at a wayside rest somewhere in Indiana. I'd been driving for almost 1 1/2 days, which, between the mid-summer heat, an air conditioner that wasn't working and the long leg cast I was wearing, had me totally beat down.
I can't say when, exactly, but I must have dozed off because I found myself waking up to, perhaps my favorite sound - the sound of aluminum crutches. My brain was instantly overloaded with information to process. Still groggy from my unplanned nap, I was trying to figure out where exactly I was while, at the same time, on "hyper-alert" status knowing someone in very close proximity to me was using crutches. I lay their momentarily, slowly remembering where I was as the sound of the crutches neared.
As mentioned in my last article, I decided on having both my legs casted, much like the hiker I interviewed this last week. Before I share my casting experience with you, I would like to tell you a bit about myself. My name is Erin Burnett and some may know me by my old nickname "The Wall Street Sweetie". They began calling me that when I worked for CNBC/NBC, as financial correspondent, before they went bancrupt in 2013 due, in part, to the weight of their liberal bias. Since that time, I have been doing freelance reporting around the county, covering new trends in everything from fashion to finance. This recreational cast trend has interested me for some time and is what led me to Aspen, the epicenter of all things related to casting.
Brief note; This is different style story(in form of news article) and a few from community are mentioned. Hope no one takes offense - none is intended.
The current cast craze continues throughout the country with this
rocky Mountain town as the epicenter for current cast trends and accessories. "Cast chic", as it is called, can be seen most anywhere that you look. On the street, winter or Summer, you are guaranteed to see the rich and famous sporting the latest in designer casts. Jennifer Aniston was recently seen on the arms of her latest husband, Jude Law, sporting a full length leg cast finished in a candy red metallic poly coat with a matching arm/shoulder spica cast. A denim skirt, wedge heeled sandal and off the shoulder blouse was all that was needed to compliment the cast combo.
Almost an hour had passed since Darla lay down on the bed with her new cast. We talked, almost continually about her cast and the casting world out there. She was still marveling at how comfortable it was despite how big a cast it was and the complete rigid way it held her leg. Though she had tried to get up once, I had her stay down for at least an hour to make sure the fiberglass would set properly. She finally begged me to let her try to walk on it so I said, "Okay, I guess, but you'll have to wear a cast shoe".
"What's that," she said
"You know, like a rubber heel or soul that straps to the bottom of the cast," I replied. It will protect the cast and also allow you to walk easier. I have one that will work perfectly with your cast. I'll bet you'll be surprised how well you can walk. It's all about getting the right height of your cast relative to the shoe that you're wearing on your good foot".

I finished off my 3" rolls on hr foot and lower leg, then switched to 4" as I went past her knee for the first time. I had her keep a slightbend in her knee, but not too much, because I knew she would have to walk on her cast as I didn't have cructhes with me. I applied more rolls from her ankle up to her thigh and then back down, slowly building a very solid yet attractive cast that followed the beautiful contours of Darla's leg perfectly. With her foot set enough to rest on a foam pad, I continued up her thigh as Darla watched me work with a curious intensity. I was now wrapping mostly around her thigh area with occasional wraps down over her knee and then back up.
As Darla and I walked back tp my motel room, my mind raced with anticipation of what was to come. This lovely 5'-4" brunette holding on to my arm was as pretty as they come and the thought of her in a cast was almost too much for me to imagine, let alone, experience for real. I was still afraid I'd do or say something that would send her running up into the snow covered hills that still surrounded this little mountain town
As we walked, I filled her in on the casting world and community out there and she listened with rapt attention and inquisitiveness. Her curiosity had definitely been piqued as she kept asking me questions about casts and the people who love them. She still couldn't understand why she had never heard of it if it was such a popular trend. I don't think she wanted to be left out.
Propped on a barstool in a local hangout of this Colorado Mountain town, I tried to keep my cool as this beautiful, dark haired gal pulled out the bar stool next to me and sat down. The converstion I was having with some local guy on how this town was turning into another Vail or Aspen suddenly faded into a blurr of noise and became way less important than the enchanting presence that was now sitting beside me.
My past attempts at picking up women at bars ususally met with, less than satisfactory results. I've always figured myself to be okay looking and a pretty nice guy but that just never seemed to get the job done. It was clearly time to try a new approach.
